Vertical farm Plenty will focus more on strawberries in the future and close its leafy vegetable factory in Compton. Plenty has been undergoing a strategic shift over the past few years, moving from focusing on leafy vegetables to strawberries.

As a result, the company has decided to close its leafy green vegetable farm in Compton. The future of Plenty lies in strawberry cultivation because strawberries fill the supply gap, offer locally grown products with peak-season flavor all year round, and command high prices. Most vertical farms are limited to growing lettuce. In the past decade, Plenty has designed a modular cultivation system that is flexible enough to support multiple crops. Advanced technology combined with our close partnerships has enabled Plenty to achieve success in the field of strawberry cultivation.
