The first four months of foreign trade data from Guangdong, a major foreign trade province, ran out of double-digit growth, and continued to show a good development trend of quantity increase and quality rise. Data show that in the first four months, Guangdong's major trading partners have achieved positive growth.

Among them, ASEAN, Hong Kong, China, the United States, the European Union and China Taiwan for Guangdong's top five trading partners, respectively, an increase of 7.2 per cent, 17.5 per cent, 9.6 per cent, 4.1 per cent and 16.3 per cent, accounting for the proportion of the total value of imports and exports in Guangdong were 16.1 per cent, 12.4 per cent, 11.4 per cent, 11.2 per cent and 7.5 per cent.

In addition, the scale of import and export of private enterprises continues to grow, becoming an important part of Guangdong's foreign trade. In the first four months, Guangdong's private enterprises imported and exported 1.77 trillion yuan, an increase of 18.1 per cent, accounting for 63.2 per cent of the total value of Guangdong's imports and exports, an increase of 3.1 percentage points over the same period last year.
