The 2024/25 Chilean blueberry production season has been slightly delayed, with the proportion of new varieties reaching as high as 63%. The Chilean Blueberry Committee report shows that compared with the previous production season and the initial forecasts, the Chilean blueberry production season has been slightly delayed, but it is currently progressing smoothly. Andrés Armstrong, the Executive Director of the Chilean Blueberry Committee, explained, "As of week 47, the cumulative export volume has decreased by 28% compared to the same period last year and by 14% compared to previous forecasts. However, as the harvest volumes in various regions gradually increase, the lag will be gradually caught up in the coming weeks, so that the actual export volume will be on a par with the forecast volume."

Armstrong added, "The good news is that although the weather has led to a relatively slow ripening speed of blueberries, resulting in the current delay of the production season, it has had a positive impact on the quality of our exported blueberries. The quality of blueberries at the start of this season has reached a new high, which has also been confirmed by the quality inspections carried out by the Blueberry Committee on member enterprises every week. Combined with the increase in the proportion of new varieties, this has brought a very positive start for domestic growers and exporters. Data as of week 47 indicates that 63% of the blueberries exported this season are new varieties, a significant increase compared to 50% in the same period of the previous production season."
